Person delivered and unpacked. Nothing other than TV in box. He said it happens all the time and that Amazon would overnight me the missing stuff. I called Amazon and they said to refuse delivery. Samsung missed the boat here.

I ordered this tv about a week ago. I received the PN50b550 which upon opening the box me and the CEVA delivery guys noticed about 6 different parts of the screen were broken. I refused the delivery on that Friday. I received my replacement today on Monday (which was nice because it was fast) But guess what happened when we opened the box this time?? Screen was broke in about 4 different parts. Refused the delivery. I havent had the chance to turn on this tv. The packaging is beyond horrible! it has nothing to protect the screen from harm. I did ask for a final replacement which I do hope comes in 1 piece…but I am 90% sure it wont make it.
I do not know who to blame, CEVA or Amazon. Actually I blame Amazon for not having a carrier who can get me the item unharmed. DO NOT BUY THIS FROM AMAZON, BUy IT FROM A LOCAL RETAILER WHO YOU CAN PICK UP THE TV FROM…….I am actually a big supporter of Amazon, just still in shock of the lack of care for an item that is considered “high end”.
UPDATE: June 19,2009 The tv looks amazing and I am currently putting together a nice video review for Amazon. I am still loyal to them but I was very close to never purchasing from them again. I cannot change the star rating, but right now I would give it a 4 out of 5. (I was really mad about the delivery)

This television has a beautiful picture, the price is very reasonable, but you need to be aware that you cannot watch programs in the old 4:3 format. This TV is very sensitive to burn-in! I like to watch regular television programs and most old tv shows are in the old format. I only had it about 2 weeks and noticed the bars down both sides of the television. I ran the scrolling feature and made sure to now stretch the shows to wide fit, which cuts off some of picture on the top and bottom. But now I am noticing that the logos from the tv stations on the bottom right or left show images. Also, it is not a good tv to play video games on for the same reason. After short periods of time you see imaging from the score bars of the game. And I have the screen protection option on at the fastest setting. I am returning this television and going back to an LCD. The reason I went plasma was because for the same picture quality and other options the price was lower. I got this television for about $1,000. I am going to go to a 46″ LCD and spend a little more. In my opinion, it is just not worth the headache of worrying about screen burn-in! I have this television a little less than a month. What is the screen going to look like 6 months or a year from now? How many shadows are going to become permanent?

Very I am very happy with this TV, especially at this price. Just be sure to have HD with it. Regular channels kind of look like crap.

The sound is OK, having external speakers makes it much nicer.
