this thing really is a waste of space. there is NO content available that anyone would ever want to watch. i got this piece of junk thrown in for free when i bought a new tv and i wish i hadn’t bothered, i should have opted for the dvd player that i didn’t need. at least i could have given that away to the goodwill. i bought an appletv which does everything this thing wishes it did and more.

  2. Does not work with all internet conections.

The service might be OK for a while but if you have a dynamic IP address at home (most people do) the chances are that in some weeks it will stop showing videos…..Sony technical answer: change your ISP or have them correct the information of the company that we are using to determine that your IP address is in Canada (what?) They are totally wrong. It seems that the whole initiative to go into the video on demand initiative was not really well planned by Sony. The TVs are nice, but the internet video on demand is a total failure, unfortunately that has spill over to their TVs…stick to the basics.

I purchased this product in September and it has been down frequently. I had difficulty initially with the internet connection and when I called the Sony support line, I was told I needed a gaming adapter or something similar. I purchased the adapter and I had decent service for awhile. I don’t really ask it to do much, just recall my amazon video library and netflix. It is down again and after hours on the phone with different support people they have determined that the unit isn’t working properly and want me to return it. For my needs the Roku I have on my upstairs Sony is 100% better. It was easy to set up, the picture is great, and I use it wirelessly without problems.
