This T.V. is even more than I expected it to be! Great picture, very easy to use, and the sound is beautiful. I messed u when I ordereed and asked for two t.v.’s but Amazon fixed the problem quickly and to my complete satisfaction.

I’ve had 2 of these broken within 16 months and 1 at my parents house. This leads me to believe that there is a major quality problem with Toshiba or at the very least the Regza line. The repair is 4 times more expensive than a new unit and Toshiba referred me to a repair shop that does not accept any credit/debit cards only CASH and, as I found out later, is on BBB’s “red list”. Surely, I was charged hundreds of dollars for “diagnostics” and the TV was returned to me in its original condition(broken). Toshiba took no actions and continues to send its customers to the same service center(I checked). Just be careful with your money.

I have this 42″ Toshiba TV as well as a 37″ Toshiba LCD. The 42″ developed audio problems just as the warranty expired. The first thing I found was that NO ONE in my area would service a Toshiba LCD TV. I called Toshiba, and they seemed cognizant of audio problems with this set. I was sent a memory chip with new software of some sort. The TV accepted and acknowledged the chip, did a download, the the audio got fixed for the most part. The 42″ still has a very slight delay between the audio and video. It is NOT! a good TV. The picture quality has never been as good as it should be. The card reader on the side is ONLY good for “service issues” (to wit, the download provided by Toshiba), it WILL NOT accept the same card from one of my cameras (for picture display). My 37″ Toshiba (not a “Regza”,whatever that means) has a better picture than the 42″, but still inferior to my recently purchased Panasonic TV. The

Panasonic TV will display pictures using the card reader. In my

considered opinion, Toshiba TVs are to be avoided. I’ve seen ‘way less expensive Vizio sets that outperform my “Toshiba Regza”.

My advice-spend a little more and get a Panasonic or LG. I’m pretty well stuck with a (42″ “Regza”) that guests sometimes remark:”Is that the best picture you can get?”

  4. The screen, frame, and even the pedestal are so glossy and reflective that my next purchase will have to be dark curtains for the windows. The pedestal/TV assembly does not hide the frame which shows at the bottom of the screen. The overall aesthetics of this TV are plain ugly and I would return it if I could. It appears that Toshiba rushed this unit to compete in the “240″ Hz market as I have an earlier model Toshiba that is beautiful. The picture is wonderful (at night).

  5. This is a great tv. It was a snap to connect. My mom liked it, so she bought one too.
